Bristol City Council have commissioned Artswork media to deliver three 90 seconds shorts to play on an up and coming website creating awareness for environmental noise.
Traffic, roadworks and other city sounds have been proven to cause long term effects of stress to those living and working in the heart of Bristol. The council are particularly worried about the south areas of Bristol and are keen to raise awareness in an interesting and entertaining way.
Steve Crawshaw came to the Artswork Media office on Monday 12th January to talk to the students and decide what and how the films should be produced. A commission of £300 will go towards the shoot and will be a huge leap to get some work seen by the general public.
The films will be shot on location in some of Bristol’s noisiest areas and will hopefully be eye opening to those who live in the south areas of Bristol if they haven’t considered noise pollution before.
Bristol City Council are planning a new website scheme ‘Citizenscape’ to allow residents to have more say in what happens around the city. Forums, photos, film clips and discussion pages will be available to those who wish to have a say to developments within the city.
‘Bristol’s Streets’ website will be running next week where the ‘noise maps’ showing the worst areas of environmental noise can be seen.
