ITV producer visits Broadcast Lab

Added on 02 Mar 2007

An ITV producer for breakfast show GMTV today visited the Broadcast Lab to give students a taste of the industry. David Mason, who has worked in TV and radio since the 80's, talked to students interested in going in to media throughout the day. He also attended SoftC, discussing his lengthy and exciting career with students and suggesting ways in which to improve output.

David started in local radio in the late 1980s, helping out with his local radio station. He graduated through the ranks, setting up Radio Orchard in Somerset, and finally presenting his own show. He worked all around the country, switching between cable TV and radio. As he explained to SoftC; he managed to bring skills from one media to the other, including his ability to present a range of different programs.

Working together with David, Creative Writing students came up with the idea for a satirical radio news show, which SoftC plans to produce and distribute. If you’re a student interested in writing or performing the show, get in touch with SoftC through the myspace.
