The DesignLab is developing an online peer review tool, which aims to enhance the efficiency and documentation of peer-based learning and tutorial-based teaching.

The tool has multiple functions, on one level, it can allow staff to make tutorials notes on students. As its online, they can view previous notes written by other tutors, to see that there is continuity.

Another function of the tool is to allow students to make notes on each other, in peer reviews. These notes notes (and tutor notes), can be reviewed by the student, giving them a permanent record.

This database software will be particularly beneficial for Design Crit situations, where students who are being critted can take home the valuable advice given to them. Advice which may be forgotten if not recorded.

The software is being developed and trialled over the coming year.
