The appointment of a Technical Demonstrator earlier in the year has welcomed Maggie Powell to the department and she has already begun work on several projects with students: including work for exhibition at New Designers in London, at the Business Design Centre. More recently she has worked with Victoria Purver, an MA graduate, who has been awarded a place to show in Texprint at Indigo the design show at Premier Vision in Paris. Victoria has provided a stunning range of headscarves and print design, which she is showing as part of her work.

Work has also begun on projects working with and presenting to the industry. We are represented this year at 100% design in London by three different people from the department.

• Tracy Kendall, a member of staff who is showing exclusive wallpapers produced in a number of ways including lazer cutting and 3 dimensional paper stitched and worked with layers of paper stitched to backing.

• Lizzie Allen is a Crafts Council Next Move Designer based in the University who is producing figurative wallpapers handpainted with accessories for the home.

• Sam Pickard an MA student who is producing wallpapers and furnishings, fabrics, tiles and accessories for the home.
  

All are showing new ranges of work and in the Spring 2007 we plan to show a range of student work set as a project to be shown at Indigo, Premier Vision in Paris.

A number of collaborative projects are also being considered for the future and we will update the site with developments.
