Performing Arts Studios augment existing arts facilities

The newest and most obvious addition to faciltiies at Bath Spa University's Newton Park campus is the University Theatre building, comprising a 200-seat 'black box' auditorium with three adjacent performing arts studios.

Artswork funding has enabled the theatre space to be kitted out as an industry standard performance space and will provide students with opportunities to develop their sound, lighting and stage management skills across their learning.

This new resource for the University's dance and drama students is a welcome and timely addition to the institution's arts portfolio. It compliments the existing Michael Tippett Centre - a 250-seat concert hall - and will allow the University to cater for a wider range of visiting companies and guest performers, again enhancing the level of industry engagement available to students at Bath Spa.
